like the naked leads the blind I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind BACKGROUND Aeon's history is strange and convoluted, and to understand it, a brief note on her canon world should be included. The year is 7698 AD, and humanity has been confined to a single walled city, split down the middle. On one side is Bregna, inhabited by people who call themselves Breen. The Breen are ruled by technocratic Chairman Trevor Goodchild, a dictator in all but name who is more concerned with his scientific experiments and advances in surveillance and biotechnology than his people. On the other side are the Monicans, a group who do not have a leader so much as a will to overthrow Trevor and bring freedom to the Breen. Aeon is a Monican, and her missions usually involve either investigating or foiling Trevor's plans. Because she frequently dies in these missions, one episode used cloning to answer the question of why and how she keeps coming back to try again. (The movie and video game go into a lot more detail about this, and they can all be connected chronologically, with the movie being treated as The End). Nothing is shared about her life before becoming a Monican operative, save for that she has a younger sister named Una who is studying to be a translator. It is also implied heavily that she supplements her income by posing as a model for fetish magazines, particularly anything involving feet. The culture she lives in has very little shame in terms of sexuality or modesty, so most will probably be surprised at her lack of boundaries. (I have an opt-out comment for this, and anything else, below this post.) PERSONALITY Aeon is curiosity incarnate, to the point of sometimes being pretty easy to distract. Something as innocuous as an unattended video player can pull her away from a mission and potentially lead to failure. She has a complicated relationship with her own morality: in some circumstances, she is shown clearly regretting the results of some of her actions or failures, even to the point of tears. In others, she is completely remorseless, or even vindictive, believing people have earned what happened to them. When Chairman Goodchild tries to install an AI called a Custodian in Aeon to 'better her conscience', she insists repeatedly that she does not have or need one. Whether that insistence was wishful thinking or bravado is never quite clear, but it makes sense to think it was a bit of both. Her playful side comes out most when she's teasing and/or flirting with people. She's a bit of a troll, especially when there's an opportunity to make Chairman Goodchild look foolish, and even more so when she's aware other people are trying to use her for their own gains. (Aeon's relationship with Trevor Goodchild probably merits its own personality section. The sexual tension is ludicrous. The jealousy might be even worse than that.) TL;DR: Badass Chaotic Neutral Clone Lady is often her own downfall either because Things Are Shiny or Feelings Are Hard. For a better breakdown, please see her application.
